Aberdare's Local Fitters for Magnet Kitchens
Aberdare is twelve minutes straight up the A4059 from our base in Mountain Ash, which makes it one of the areas we are in most weeks. Most of the Magnet kitchens we fit here go into the long Victorian miners terraces at Aberaman, Cwmbach and Cwmaman, where the houses were built on a slope and a floor can fall a good part of an inch across a three metre run. That is the exact condition a gloss Magnet door is least forgiving of, which is why the levelling matters more than the badge on the box.
On a valley terrace the floor is never the reference. Every base unit is levelled individually on its legs off a datum taken from the highest point, the worktop is set off the levelled carcasses rather than off the floor, and the plinth is scribed down so the gap does not show. Get that right and a Magnet high gloss run reads dead straight along its whole length. Get it wrong and the reflection down the doors tells everybody in the room exactly how far the floor has moved. Where the fall is severe we will tell you at the survey whether the floor is better levelled first, because that is far cheaper before the units go in than after.
The other thing we find constantly in Trecynon, Gadlys and Aberaman kitchens is a bricked up chimney breast or a redundant back boiler recess in the wall. Left as it is, it eats into the run and forces an awkward filler. Squared off and boarded it gives you a continuous line of Magnet units, and opened out properly, where the structure and the flue allow, it makes a genuinely good home for a range cooker or a full height larder. That gets checked and priced at the survey rather than improvised on the day, and anything structural is brought in through the right trades.
Access here is usually the back lane rather than the front door, and carrying Magnet units in through a back gate beats threading them past the front room every time. What we confirm at the survey is whether the lane is passable, whether the gate takes a 1000mm unit and whether there are steps up into the yard. Painted shaker doors travel that route boxed and go on at the end of the job so they are not chipped on a gatepost. Laminate worktops are cut and jointed on site, while a quartz or granite top ordered through Magnet is templated once the bases are in and fitted a week or two later. Everything comes with a fixed written price and a workmanship guarantee.

Fitting Magnet kitchens
Magnet cover a wide spread from budget ranges up to premium painted and in-frame kitchens, so the fitting standard has to match what you have paid for. Gloss doors show every misalignment and every fingerprint, and painted shaker doors chip if they are handled carelessly, so protection and careful setting out matter throughout the job.
