Carrying units in through a back gate off the lane beats taking everything past the front room and up a narrow hallway, and on a Wickes fit that route gets used more than once. Base units are levelled individually off their legs and packed where needed so the worktop runs true, and the plinth is scribed to the floor so the gap does not show. Where the fall is severe we will tell you whether the floor is better levelled first, because that is cheaper before the units go in than after.

Older properties around Trecynon and Gadlys often still have a bricked up chimney breast or a redundant back boiler recess in the kitchen wall, and a plan drawn from customer measurements almost never accounts for it. A recess can be squared off and boarded so the run of units is continuous, or opened out properly to take a range cooker if the structure and the flue allow. We check that at the survey and either design around it or bring the right trade in, rather than discovering it when the old units come off. Reused appliances get measured at the same visit, since a fridge freezer or a tumble dryer you already own has to suit the new opening rather than the other way round.

Laminate worktops are cut and jointed here in the house as part of the fit, while quartz, granite and most solid surface tops are templated once the base units are in and made off site, so we build that gap into the plan and fit a temporary top in the meantime. Wickes orders regularly turn up short on fillers, end panels or legs, so we check the delivery against the plan early and tell you what needs chasing while we carry on with what we can. Tiling, splashbacks and flooring can be done in the same visit, strip out and responsible disposal of the old kitchen is included, and Gas Safe and electrical work is carried out by the appropriately qualified trades and coordinated by us.
