Mountain Ash Is Home, and Wren Kitchens Are What We Fit
Mountain Ash is home rather than a coverage area. We are on Woodland Street by the Recreation Ground, so a good number of the Wren kitchens we fit here are within walking distance of the yard. That matters more than it sounds with Wren, because when a full delivery of built units lands in one drop and something is wrong with it, being ten minutes away is the difference between a phone call and a lost day.
The town is colliery terrace built up the valley sides in Pennant stone, and on the rows above Oxford Street the front door and the back door can be a full storey apart. That means solid walls with no cavity, small rear kitchens, doorways that will not take a fridge freezer without the door coming off, and a rear lane behind most rows that is frequently the only sensible way in with rigid Wren units. We know these streets, so at the survey we can tell you where a delivery vehicle will realistically stop and how the boxes get from there into the house. That is a lot better than working it out on delivery morning with a driver waiting.
Penrhiwceiber and Perthcelyn bring in later council built stock where the walls are block and the rooms are more regular, and there are pockets of newer housing around Abercynon and Ynysboeth that behave like any modern build. Which of those you are standing in changes the fixings, the delivery plan and the order the trades come in. On stone we use resin or frame fixings rather than the plugs in the Wren box; on the newer stuff we make sure the fixing reaches the block behind the plasterboard. Base units get levelled off their legs to a single datum either way, because a flat looking floor in a valley terrace is rarely a level one.
Because Wren build the units before they send them, the fitting stage moves quickly once everything is in the house, and most jobs here run five to ten working days depending on how much plumbing, electrical and tiling work sits alongside. We work Monday to Friday, eight until six, with Saturdays by appointment, and if that does not suit because of shift work or the school run we will agree a start and finish that does. Every installation carries our workmanship guarantee and we hold public liability insurance. If something is not right after we have gone, we would rather come back and sort it than argue about it, and from Woodland Street that is usually the same day or the next.

Fitting Wren kitchens
Wren supply rigid, pre-built units rather than flat-pack, so the fitting work is less about assembly and more about getting a dead level run across floors that are rarely level. Wren also deliver the whole kitchen in one drop, which means you need somewhere dry to store it and a fitter booked for a date that lines up with that delivery. We survey before ordering wherever possible so the plan matches the room rather than the other way round.
